The Slinky Service is an accessible bus service funded through Somerset County Council for people unable to access conventional public transport. Slinky is for anyone of any age who does not have access to their own vehicle or who would have difficulty using public transport due to lack of availability or through health or other problems.  There are two buses operating within the district of West Somerset (west of the Quantocks).

Journeys must be booked in advance and are on a first-come-first-served basis.  

Journeys cannot be booked more than a fortnight in advance.

The service is available Monday – Friday 9.00am-5.00pm
The service is not available on Public or Bank Holidays or at the weekends

Bus pass holders will be charged a fare.

Journeys up to 3 miles: single £1.30 / return £2.00.  Journeys over 3 miles: single £1.80 / return £2.50.

Non-pass holders will be charged a fare.

Journeys up to 3 miles: single £2.50 / return £4.00.  Journeys over 3 miles: single £3.50 / return £5.00.

Children aged 4-15 will be charged a half fare.  Children under 4 travel for free.

NB. From Monday 19th July 2021, Somerset County Council still require face coverings to be worn on this service.
